Nordex installing further wind farm for STEAG

Nordex SE has been awarded another contract for the delivery and installation of a wind farm for power producer STEAG New Energies, including a 15-year premium service contract.

Installation of the seven N100/2500 turbines is to commence in January 2016, with the 17.5MW farm to go into operation in summer of the same year.

The 'Cormainville' project is located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Paris. Like the previous project 'Onze Muids', the wind farm has been planned by project developer Volkswind.

The turbines to be used in the wind farm have been designed for medium wind speeds and will yield an above-average capacity factor of around 34% for the project.

Nordex installed what to date is its largest project for STEAG New Energies in Brandenburg with 18 multi-megawatt turbines. All told, STEAG New Energies operates wind farms with a total capacity of 118MW in France, Germany and Poland.
