New safety pressure control series

Louise Davis

Responding to industry feedback throughout the process sector, Emerson has recently extended its range of refrigeration controls with the new CS1 series of high-pressure safety controls.

The new CS1 range offers a novel feature in the refrigeration market, thanks to its maximum operating pressure of 70 bar, and its adjustable pressure setpoint, making it suitable for high-pressure refrigerants such as R410A, or CO2 in subcritical applications.

This new range meets the highest requirements for safety and environmental impact, by being compliant with EN12263 and EN378. CS1 pressure control acts as a protection device for the compressors in situations when the pressure in the system exceeds the limits.

New CS1 series are available in automatic reset versions and are standard equipped with single pole double throw contacts for safety function and alarm/status reporting. Alco pressure controls ensure proven efficiency and reliability which are key values at the core of every Alco Controls product development, allowing the most optimised system performance.

The new launch is part of Emerson’s comprehensive range of safety-related products. The firm offers control and safety systems to help provide a safer, more environmentally efficient manufacturing process. With a complete system offering – from distributed control systems to safety instrumented systems – Emerson’s smart technology combined with industry-specific engineering, consulting, project management and maintenance services improves operations in an easy, intuitive, and interoperable way.
