New defence and industrial data connecter launched

Paul Boughton

TT Electronics is introducing its most advanced rugged, high-speed data connector targeted at harsh man-portable defence and industrial applications. The MIL-PP family of micro push-pull connectors saves up to 35% weight and space over previous devices and has been developed following feedback from end users and key customers.

The new range of connectors offers tactile blind mate-able key-keyway engagement, environmental sealing to IP68/69K and a range of ultra-high density insert arrangements for signal and data including USB, Ethernet and RS232 systems. Improved EMC performance is safeguarded with leading shell-to-shell screening using Delta-Clip technology, to minimise any detectable electronic signature.

Shell styles available as standard include, Cable Plug, In-line Cable Receptacle, Box Receptacle and a low-profile Recessed Box Receptacle, all available in three shell sizes. Additionally, the connectors can be supplied as standalone devices or as a customised complete over-moulded harness system. Across the range, aerospace-grade aluminium alloy housings in a low lustre, non-reflective black finish ensure temperature resilience, enabling operation from -40oC to +125oC.
