The TDN 5WI Series redefines the power density of isolated 5 Watt DC/DC converters.
The layout is optimised for a high efficiency and an excellent thermal management. In combination with high grade components the circuit could be packed in a cubical plastic casing of only 1.23 cm3. This is just a quarter of the volume compared with conventional 5 Watt dc/dc converters.
A special design flat switching transistor with extended dissipation surface and extra thermo-conducting potting compound enables this development stage without reduction in terms of performance and reliability.
The TDN 5WI Series models reliably operate in up to 50°C environment temperature at full load or up to 75°C with a 50% load de-rating. They provide an I/O-isolation of 1500VDC which conforms to the prevalent requirements in IT, industrial and consumer electronics.
Models are available in three input voltage range versions of 4.5–12VDC, 9–36VDC or 18–75 VDC and have fully regulated outputs with settings of 3.3, 5.0, 12, 15, 24, ±5.0, ±12, ±15 VDC.
The regulation does not require any minimum load and the converters offer an input for a remote off signal to optimise the energy management.
