Low fire hazard liquid tight flexible conduit

Paul Boughton

Flexicon has launched a new liquid tight flexible conduit, called LTPLFH, which when used with its ATEX and IECEx EX d barrier gland is suitable for hazardous areas.  It has an IP rating of up to IP69k and a low fire hazard rating.

With the barrier gland it can be used for Ex d, Ex e and Ex t applications; in Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas where group A, B or C gases are present and Zones 21 and 22 where explosive dust may be present.

As a low fire hazard product, LTPLFH is highly flame retardant, has low smoke emissions, low toxicity, is halogen, sulphur and phosphorous free and is self extinguishing.

It has a galvanised steel core, which provides a high mechanical strength and a low fire hazard (LFH) polyolefin outer sheath that is oil resistant.  The conduit has also been vibration and shock tested to EN61373 and can withstand temperatures from -25˚C to 90˚C.

LTPLFH also has ‘Authorised for Use’ status on the London Underground Approved Products register and offers compliance with LU standard 1-085 for limited and dispersed applications.

It is available in diameters ranging from 16mm to 50mm, with coil lengths in either 10m and/or 25m.
