Line sensor for industrial plants launched

Paul Boughton

Hamamatsu Photonics has developed an energy-discriminating radiation line sensor, which features a direct conversion type semiconductor, to inspect pipe wall thinning due to corrosion.

The product will be available from 1st December 2014 to companies that provide inspection services to facilities such as petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, and power plants. In addition, Hamamatsu will offer customisation of the line sensor, such as the sensitivity (pixel size) of the sensor, based on customer requirements.
