Iris valve meets high levels of hygiene

Paul Boughton

Mucon has launched its new Series K2P electrically/pneumatically actuated range of Iris valves.

Now in its second generation, the Series K2 Powered Iris Valves have been specifically designed for automatic and remote applications, complimenting the popular hand operated versions.

The Mucon range of Iris diaphragm valves has for more than 60 years been associated with the control of powders, granules, capsules and pellets to the chemical and food processing sectors.

The Series K2P has been specifically developed for applications requiring high levels of hygiene. This particular range of Iris valves utilises a patented, moulded diaphragm technology already employed throughout the K-Valve range.

All valve body parts are manufactured from 316 stainless steel as standard. White moulded diaphragms can be produced from natural tubber, EPDM and silicone in order to suit most product applications. All diaphragms in the Series K2P range are manufactured from FDA approved materials.

The key features of the valve are:

* FDA approved diaphragm materials
* Full product flow control
* Non-Jamming
* No mechanical parts in contact with the product
* Slim Design
* Electric and Pneumatic actuation
* ATEX approved Cat. 1D / 2D
