Motion plastics specialist igus has announced that its iglidur A181 material can now be ordered online in more than 110 dimensions up to 50mm diameter, with or without flange, with no minimum order quantity.
The tribopolymer meets the requirements of FDA and EC directive 10/2011, achieving low wear rates especially in combination with corrosion-resistant shafts.
“Since its introduction, iglidur A181 proves to be a real all-rounder in this industry,” says Robert Dumayne, dry-tech director, igus. “In bottling and packaging plants, in particular, this high-performance, blue plastic is suited for rotary as well as pivoting movement - in particular for stainless steel shafts.”
In addition to standard bearing dimensions, iglidur A181 is now offered in 14 different bar stock sizes, so prototypes and small batch production are possible. Alongside this, igus can produce special, custom parts for the food and packaging industry, where there are any requirements for low friction components.
