The new Omron Human Vision Component (HVC) is a module that integrates 10 key image sensing functions with a camera in just 60 x 40mm.
Developers can detect a human face, hand or body, and implement face recognition, gender detection, age estimation, mood estimation, facial pose estimation, gaze estimation, and blink estimation. The module simply returns a value and a degree of certainty, so all developers need do is configure the system response appropriately for each individual application.
Omron Electronic Components Europe will be demonstrating its embedded face and gesture recognition module for the first time in public at electronica 2014 in Munich, Germany, 11–14th November.
