Connector range expanded to meet growing demand

Paul Boughton

Binder has extended its range of four and five-pole M12 connectors with an eight-pole, right-angled receptacle version. Designed to meet the growing demand for M12 connector systems, this new arrangement saves space in complex systems by allowing the PCB to lie flat within the equipment.

The moulded plastic insert includes location pins to snap into the PCB to retain it during wave-soldering. An optional shielding sheet can provide contact between the housing and the PCB while, also available is an O-ring that completes the seal between the housing and the contact insert.

Protected to IP67 when mated, the Binder M12 range has a connector body made from nickel-plated brass, gold-plated contacts and a life in excess of 100 mating cycles. They are used extensively in types of control, automation, sensing and instrumentation equipment.
