Compact linear modules are lightweight and low-noise

Paul Boughton
Schunk has enlarged the series of compact linear modules from its HSB system for miniaturisation. In order to ensure friction-free, near-silent running, the linear D 90 features a roller guide that is adjusted to the axis profile. The axis is optionally available with a belt drive (ZRS) or a spindle drive (SRS). With the belt drive, strokes of up to 3720mm can be specified. With the spindle drive, a 12mm diameter ball screw is used, the spindle pitch being 4 or 5 mm, and the maximum stroke is 1185mm.

Compared with alternatives, Schunk says the D 90 offers lower weight, friction-free and noiseless running, and low maintenance thanks to the use of sealed rollers.
