Solenoid valves use 'hit and hold' drive technology

Paul Boughton
Sensortechnics is releasing new two- and three-way Ten-X solenoid valves. The Ten-X series is available with integrated 'Hit and Hold' drive electronics to reduce the power consumption and heat generation using pulse width modulation (PWM). These lightweight miniature valves are suitable for many portable, medical and analytical device applications.

The Ten-X valves achieve high flow rates of 8 lpm at 6psi (400mbar) and 22 lpm at 30psi (2bar) through a 1.5mm orifice. The single-piece body design reduces the overall component parts count and provides high reliability and excellent leak specifications over the lifetime of the valves. The compact 10mm wide package includes barbed pressure ports for direct tubing connections, or manifold-mount assemblies using the Ten-X gasket.

Sensortechnics says the new Ten-X series meets the specific response times and flow requirements of non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) devices. Further medical applications include respiratory devices, anaesthesia machines, oxygen concentrators/conservers and wound therapy. Due to its small size, low power consumption and minimal heat dissipation, these valves are especially suitable for portable applications.
