To simplify the design phase, cut costs and increase user safety, the new Vacon NXP has an integrated safe disable function.
Certified according to EN-954-1, category 3, this function can be used to ensure that the drive will not start eg during maintenance or servicing of the machine. Thus, it can be used to replace the conventional safety switch during mechanical maintenance. The safe disable function cannot be used for electrical maintenance.
For the supervision of motor temperatures in potentially explosive atmospheres, Vacon offers a thermistor input integrated in the drive. This brings cost savings as the Vacon NXP thermistor input is compliant with ATEX 94/9/EC. No external thermistor relay is needed.
The drive is available up to 3MW and in voltages from 230V to 690V. The drive is intended for demanding automation, motion control and machine building applications, incorporating the latest trends in functionality and options.
The Vacon NXP can run both standard induction motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors in all configurations from servo to dedicated high-speed permanent magnet motors.
