Explosion-proof motor

Flux Pumps International is claiming a 'world first' for its Flux FBM 4000 Ex brushless explosion-proof motor. Suitable for use in barrel pumps, the motor combines safety in hazardous environments with operational flexibility, controllability and reliability.

Offering a soft start and infinitely variable speed control, the motor provides a solution for a range of applications, with the benefit of virtually wear-free, low-noise operation.
The FBM 4000 Ex motor is initially available in a 230V, 560W version within an aluminium housing proven in Flux's F 460 Ex series pump motor. It is approved to ATEX 100a for use in explosive environments. For added safety there is an integral no-voltage release.
The new motor is designed for compatibility with ATEX 100a approved pumps in Flux's range, including the F 424 sealless pump, a maintenance-free solution for handling abrasive and aggressive media; the F 430 which handles a variety of media, including paints, adhesives and materials which tend to crystallise or harden, leaving virtually no residue; and the F 550 GS eccentric worm drive pump which provides a lightweight solution for transferring liquids with viscosities up to 30000 mPas.
