prototypes cast in nylon

A new technology from MCP that allows complex parts to be vacuum cast in nylon for the first time has been designed to meet the growing demand for prototype parts in final production materials.

As more industries, particularly those in the automotive sector, are looking to produce bespoke or short series of particular models or components, this new development will also allow the production of actual production parts in nylon, eliminating the cost and time normally required to undertake hard tooling.
The nylon casting process employs a special nylon module within traditional vacuum casting equipment and uses silicone moulds designed specifically for the production of parts in nylon 6.
