Cylindrical bushings are made from a composite bearing material

Rino Industries Ltd has recently launched a high quality range of cylindrical bushings into its new mechanical drive components catalogue.

The PM-DX cylindrical bushings are made from a composite bearing material developed specially to operate with marginal lubrication. They consist of three bonded layers: a steel backing strip and a sintered bronze matrix, impregnated and overlaid with a pigmented acetal copolymer bearing material. The steel backing provides mechanical strength and the bronze interlayer provides a strong mechanical bond for the lining. This construction promotes dimensional stability and improves thermal conductivity, thus reducing the temperature at the bearing surface, the company states.

PM-DX are designed for use with grease lubrication and the bearing surface is normally provided with a pattern of indents. These serve as a reservoir for the grease and are designed to provide the optimum distribution of lubricant over the bearing surface.

There are many characteristics and advantages when selecting these bearings, which include maintenance free operation, high pU capability, low wear rate, resistant to seizures, suitable for temperatures from -40 to 120ºC, high static and dynamic load capacity, good frictional properties, no water absorption and are therefore dimensionally stable, compact and light, suitable for oscillating, reciprocating and sliding movements as well as being pre-finished and requiring no machining after assembly.
