Feed-through avoids cable breakages

Feed-through avoids cable breakages

Schunk's new EDF 30 electrical rotary feed-through for the SRU 30 rotary unit eliminates breakdowns and short-circuits on external cables or on cables installed through the centre bore.

A non-chafing, guided cable is installed through the centre bore in the EDF 30, with a coil used to compensate for torsion. The EDF 30, which is ordered as a mounted unit with the SRU 30, is therefore said to resolve the problems associated with rotating cables and increases both the process reliability and system availability.

Product features include digital feed-throughs for four sensors/actuators, and a bus feed-through for standard buses (eg Can, Profibus, RS 232, Interbus)
