Flow instruments can be equipped with explosion-proof housings

Trimec-Europe is introducing a new Exd explosion-proof housing option for its range of field-mounted flow instruments. The explosion-proof housing is made from robust polyurethane-coated aluminium and meets industry standards for environmental protection to IP65 and NEMA 4X.

Four large momentary action pushbuttons are mounted externally, enabling non-invasive contact with the instrument using magnets. Also users can view and operate the desired program without the need to remove the cover. The housing is compact and lightweight and is available as a surface-mount, pipe-mount or rack-mount option.

The Exd housing is certified ISSeP-ATEX flame-proof, IIGD EEx d IIC for factory mutual explosion-proof, class1, Div1, groups A,B,C and D, and SAA flameproof, Ex d IIC. It can be specified for a wide range of Trimec flow instruments including battery totalisers, automatic batch controllers and the rate totaliser with 4-20mA, alarm and scalable outputs, dual flow inputs and linearisation.
