Built-in redundancy for enhanced availability

Korenix Technology is announcing the new Jetport 5601 RS232/422/485 three-in-one to Ethernet device server, equipped with RTTD (redundant to the device) technology.

In industrial automation, providing a redundant connection to keep communication links live and reliable is becoming mandatory in network infrastructures.

The Jetport 5601 has built-in dual Ethernet ports; both are linked to upper communication ports and only one link can be activated at a time. When the master link breaks, the redundant back-up link will be activated in less than 200ms to guarantee non-stop data communications.

Usually this extra feature would be installed in a high-end intelligent Ethernet device, but now Korenix is implementing device-end redundancy in the Jetport 5601.

With the RS232/422/485 serial interface configured in software, the Jetport 5601 supports speeds as high as 460.8kbps. Configuration can be carried out using the Jetport Commander, an easy-to-use utility for Windows that covers all management, monitoring, and control functions for one or many Jetport servers. In addition, users can configure the Jetport 5601 via the internet and Telnet, which gives administrators extra flexibility for device management.

Serial port support is provided for RS232, RS422 and 2/4 wire RS485 protocols and is configured by software. The serial port can operate in various communication modes, including virtual com, TCP server, TCP client, UDP, and serial tunnel. The Jetport 5601 also supports HTTPS and SSH for secured communication management. Advanced settings for controlling data communications such as TCP alive check, delimiter, and timeout are also supported. For industrial redundant networks, the Jetport supports a maximum of five simultaneous connections for virtual com, TCP server, TCP client modes, sending data to five hosts simultaneously.

The Jetport 5601 can be wall-mounted or installed on Din-rail.
