Optical fibre installation systems

Miniflex designs and manufactures optical fibre installation systems and products for the growing market in FTTP.

The company’s in-building FTTx solution set is designed to supplly service providers, municipalities and installers with a cost effective system for connecting the subscriber to the access network.

The Miniflex system incorporates several key Miniflex products. These include:

  • DVC Microduct: A UL Riser certified cable raceway which is resistant to kinks. Its hard inner lining makes it easy to quickly push or pull fibre cable through it so reducing installation time.
  • QuikPush Cable: A pre-terminated cable with a standard SC/APC connector at one end and at the other, the Miniflex Balistix connector which is small enough to be pushed through the Microduct.
  • WAM: A battery powered installation tool, enabling the cable to be pushed from the subscriber end down to the network access point (NAP).

At the NAP Miniflex provides a Splice-less Network Access Closure (SNAC) into which the QuikPush subscriber cable is connected. The SNAC is a small network access terminal that can accept up to 12 subscribers.

The Miniflex process totally avoids the need for splicing in the field thus saving considerable time and money to the service provider

The company started trading as a research and development company in 1994, specialising in the development of fibre optic access networks.

Miniflex Limited is based in Framlingham, Suffolk, UK. www.miniflex.co.uk
