All-gigabit switch and media converter is low-cost

Amplicon's Data Communications Group is expanding its ANE (Amplicon Networking Essentials) range of low-cost Industrial Ethernet switches with the addition of an all-gigabit switch and media converter.

The ANE-401G is described as an entry-level, all-gigabit, four-port switch and media converter. It is suitable for connecting high-bandwidth devices in harsh environments thanks to its operating temperature range of -40 to +75 degrees C and its resistance to shock and vibration. IP CCTV and high-speed data acquisition applications are two primary targets for the ANE-401G.

Each device has one SFP slot for fibre-optic connectivity using multimode or single-mode SFPs for 1000 Base SX or 1000 Base LX communications. Fibre can be used in long-range (greater than the standard 100m limit of Ethernet) or EMI-sensitive applications.

The units are supplied with DIN-rail and wall-mount brackets, meaning that the ANE-401G can be securely installed. A wide-ranging 12-48V DC input provides flexible powering options and an alarm output provides an out-of-band alert if a cable is unplugged or one of the redundant power inputs fails.
