Planetary gearheads boast high capacity and quiet operation

Thomson is launching new planetary gearheads that are designed specifically for moving large loads more easily and quietly. Known as Xtrue, the new series uses proprietary 'true planetary' gearing to improve load capacity and reduce backlash.

Ted Moser, the Micron product line manager, comments: "The Xtrue series of precision gearheads is a cost-effective complement to the Micron True Planetary Gearhead family of products, which is already the broadest and deepest selection of planetary gearheads available in the world."

Xtrue True Planetary Gearheads are available in 40, 60, 80, 120 and 160mm frame sizes and deliver precise 13 arc-mins operation with torque capacity up to 876Nm and ratio availability of 3:1 to 100:1.

Users benefit from greater machine up-time with the Micron flexible Redimount mounting system that enables the gearhead to be mounted to any motor in three easy steps: align, mount and tighten.

Xtrue True Planetary Gearheads feature a tapped face output that enables easy, drop-in replacement for similarly configured European gearheads. All Xtrue components are RoHS-compliant (EU Directive 2002/95/EC), helping users to 'go green' with their machines.
