Transducers boast near-infinite resolution
HBM is launching the WA and WI series of compact inductive displacement transducers for measurements with close to infinite resolution, 80mV/V sensitivity and sealing to IP67.
The WA series transducers are designed to give outstanding mechanical robustness in all test conditions. The have short overall lengths, yet the maximum measuring length is up to 500mm.
A standard accuracy of 0.2 per cent can be obtained because the transducers use HBM's patented WA quarter-bridge technology with the optional 0.5-10V voltage output. All the electronics are integrated in the connection cable as a fully encapsulated WA-Electronic module.
HBM says the WA series is intended mainly for automobile and railcar applications because the bifilar temperature compensation makes them insensitive to temperature variations.
The complementary WI series of inductive half-bridge displacement transducers are available with measuring lengths of 2.5mm, 5mm and 10mm and a shaft diameter of 8mm.
This compact design makes the transducers suitable for a wide range of applications where space limitations are a consideration. The WI transducers have a linearity deviation of ±0.2 per cent.
