Improved security for RJ45 ports
Amp Netconnect, which is a business unit of Tyco Electronics, is launching a new range of security key accessories for RJ45 modular jack connectors.
The new products, which include plugs, jacks and patch cords (with locks at both ends), are designed to prevent the use of all RJ45 module jacks without the correct key. They provide visual security and contribute to increased security awareness among staff.
Each device uses an auto-lock mechanism that locks automatically when it is inserted into the jack; a key is only needed to remove it. Many key variations are available, allowing security control to be implemented independently for each business or department.
The security system can be used with all types of RJ45 (ISO 8877 standard) modules, and keys can be made to order. All materials used in the security accessories are fully RoHS-compliant.
