Software upgrade brings benefits for designers
Simulations for applications requiring charged particle and beam analysis need accuracy and easy analysis to ensure consistent results.Recent developments to LORENTZ v9.0, from Integrated Engineering Software, have seen increased functionality alongside significant upgrades to the user interface.
Available in 2D/RS (rotationally symmetric) and 3D packages, it uses proven field solver technology to achieve effective simulation for analysis of charged particle and beam applications. A major new feature is the improved workflow, now more intuitive because the trajectory menu is arranged as the rest of the program is.
Faster beam analysis, often to the factor of two, has been achieved by improving the ray tracing code especially running 64 bit versions of the software. This approximately halves the solution time and the system automatically makes more effective use of available RAM.
Significant setup changes include a single ODE rather than per emission setup. The emitters setup has been simplified with a single dialogue box, enabling group definition. Highlights include faster solving, RK853, more intuitive workflow, grouping of surfaces to make an emitter, more custom settings and improved statistical features.
This simplification and practicality of the program provides an increased user-friendly experience with logical steps delivering faster and accurate results.
