Torsional stiffness measurement system uses COTS components

For development engineers seeking to measure torsional stiffness in automotive, aerospace and other disciplines, RDP Electronics now offers a suitable system assembled from commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) components.

Systems may require tens or even hundreds of transducers during development and testing of road vehicles or aircraft wings, for example, to examine the effects of distortion. Such issues as road handling, door frame alignment and windscreen fit can all be examined. Data from the transducers is relayed to an RDP Modular 600 system, which is a microprocessor-based instrumentation system providing complete flexibility and expandability, accepting inputs from up to 164 channels, and which is available in either freestanding or rack form. It can be tailored to measure most engineering parameters including torsion, and data can be output in spreadsheet format for detailed examination and analysis.

Further information and guidance on specifying torsional stiffness measurement systems can be obtained from the RDP engineering support team.
