Quick-release couplings for breathing apparatus
Staubli, the specialist manufacturer of quick release couplings, is introducing a new connector for use with breathing air that improves operator safety and meets all the requirements of EN139.qqqEN139 (Respiratory protective devices -- Compressed air line breathing apparatus for use with a full face mask, half mask or a mouthpiece assembly -- Requirements, testing, marking) is the latest European Standard covering respiratory protective devices.
It states that, athe design of the couplings shall be such as to prevent unintentional interruption of the air supply'. In response to this requirement Staubli is introducing its new AQR 06 connector which requires two distinct separate actions to disconnect.
The AQR06 connector is specifically designed for use in the supply of breathing air to personal protection equipment, masks, half suits and ventilated suits.
Disconnection requires the connector plug to be pushed towards the socket in a definite action and then pressing on the release button to safely disconnect the coupling, thereby conforming precisely to the requirements of EN139.
The AQR06 connector is manufactured in stainless steel and designed for use from -10 to 65°C with a maximum working pressure of 10bar
