Mobile metal analyser with arc excitation for on-site analysis
Spectro Analytical Instruments has introduced the new Spectro iSORTa flexible battery-poweredhand-held spectrometer for on-site analysis.
Weighing 4.5kilograms (less than 10lbs)the iSORT unitcontaining opticreadout systempower distributionrechargeable battery and cleaning system is easily carried in a soft-sided case with shoulder strap. Its sample probeincluding arc excitation ignition as well as a PDA for data display and evaluationweighs in at 1.3kilograms (less than 3lbs).
The iSORT identifies and analyses aluminumcoppercobaltnickel and titanium alloys without manual operator intervention. Its ICAL calibration software saves time by controlling instrument status independently from external influences and eliminating the need for lengthy recalibrations for changes in location and temperature.
Applications for the iSORT include incoming quality controlmaterial testing in productioncomponent identification in chemical and petrochemical plants
