High security doors for the utilities sector

New from Technocover, the Ultrasecure LS/DV range of high security, composite doors meets growing demand in the utilities sector for certificated high security and demonstrable product longevity from door systems protecting critical points of access.

The extensive range includes conventional entry/exit doors and emergency (escape only) single leaf and twin doors in a variety of sizes.

Made from specially engineered composite material, the doors are certificated to the rigorous product approval scheme of the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB). They are available with either an LPCB 3 or 4 security rating, depending on the assessed level of risk, and can be supplied with up to four hour fire resistance to BS476: Part 22, tested and approved by the BRE.

Designed to strengthen utilities infrastructure against vandal and terrorist attack, Ultrasecure LS/DV units are suitable for water sites (treatment plant, storage buildings for chlorine and other process chemicals) and power applications (substations, power station facilities).  Certificated security products can help utilities companies reduce the onerous cost of replacing infrastructure and potential disruption to services resulting from criminal attack, as well as reducing insurance premiums.

The doors are post-galvanised with a Duragalv 70 (70 microns) protective coating, giving a service life in excess of 25 years. This predicted life expectancy accounts for local weathering factors, principally atmospheric corrosivity, and is backed by a manufacturer’s test certificate of zinc coating thickness.  No other manufacturer of comparable third party approved security doors provides this longevity of product or assurance of weather protection, both crucial to sustainable design and whole life costing (WLC).
