High pressure reactors

High pressure reactors

The capabilities of the remarkably versatile DrySyn range of laboratory heating systems have now been extended to include reactions carried out at high pressure and temperature such as hydrogenations.

The new Asynt Custom High Pressure Reactor is a cost effective lightweight unit, manufactured to users’ requirements to accommodate reaction volumes from 5ml to 50 litres. It is suitable for stirred or unstirred, homogeneous or non-homogeneous reactions. The reactor can be installed on a standard laboratory hotplate stirrer using a modified DrySyn insert.

Standard units are manufactured in stainless steel – usually 316 or 321 – but a wide range of other materials is available for special applications, such as Ferralium, Hastelloy, Monel, Inconel, Incoloy, Nickel, Nimonic alloys, Titanium, Zirconium and alloy steels.

Ultimate operating limits will depend on the individual design and materials used, but are typically up to 100 bar at 300°C.

All Asynt high pressure reactors conform to a wide range of national and international safety standards, including the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (PED), Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR) and British Compressed Gases CP4 Rev2 (1998).
